Liverpool have reportedly decided whether to pursue a sensational reunion with Trent Alexander-Arnold after Real Madrid indicated they could sell the England international for the right price.
The 28-year-old left his boyhood club in 2025 to join Real Madrid, a move that disappointed many Liverpool supporters. However, his career in Spain has not gone as expected, with injuries and limited playing time affecting his progress.
Trent made just 30 appearances in all competitions during his first season, while Real Madrid endured another trophyless campaign. Things have become even more difficult this season under Jose Mourinho, with the defender reportedly struggling to secure a regular starting place.
He has featured only six times this term, starting three matches, while Federico Valverde and Denzel Dumfries have emerged as competition for the right-back position.
Reports suggest Real Madrid are willing to consider offers for Trent, despite his contract running until 2031. However, Liverpool are reportedly NOT planning to bring their former star back to Anfield.
Journalist Peter O’Rourke also played down speculation about a possible reunion, suggesting there is nothing concrete regarding a return to Merseyside.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have previously been linked with interest in the England international.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Trent insists Liverpool will always hold a special place in his heart. He has revealed that he still watches the club’s matches, continues to support the Reds and considers Liverpool his home.
🔥 Could another Premier League club give Trent the fresh start he needs, or will he fight for his place at Real Madrid?
