Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Jules Koundé, while Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on his situation ahead of the January transfer window.
According to an exclusive report from 4-4-2, the French international is weighing up his future after losing his regular starting spot under Hansi Flick, potentially paving the way for a departure from the Catalan club.
The 27-year-old has established himself as a dependable defender at the highest level, but his reduced playing time this season has sparked uncertainty over his long-term future at Barcelona.
Koundé previously played a key role at right-back, but competition from Eric Garcia has restricted his opportunities in recent weeks. This could encourage the defender to pursue a new challenge, with several top European clubs prepared to explore a potential deal.
Chelsea have been interested in Koundé since his days at Sevilla, while Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly been made aware of his possible availability in January. Liverpool are also said to be in contact with intermediaries as they consider the possibility of bringing him to the Premier League.
Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation as well. Koundé’s versatility, which allows him to operate at both right-back and centre-back, makes him an appealing option for Vincent Kompany as the German champions seek to reinforce their defence.
However, securing his departure from Barcelona will not be easy. The defender’s contract runs until 2030, meaning the Spanish club are under no immediate obligation to sell.
According to the report, Barcelona would demand at least €60 million before considering his exit. Despite having alternative defensive options, the club are unlikely to accept a significant financial loss on an established international.
Although no official offers have been submitted, discussions behind the scenes indicate that a January move remains a possibility.
With several major European clubs tracking his situation, Koundé could emerge as one of the most sought-after defenders in the upcoming transfer window.
