Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has revealed that Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak could still feature against Brentford this Saturday, although no decision has been made yet.
All three players missed Liverpool’s thrilling 6-3 Champions League victory over LASK on Wednesday. Szoboszlai is dealing with a hamstring injury, Gakpo has an ankle problem, while Isak is recovering from a thigh injury.
Asked whether the trio could return for the Brentford encounter, Iraola said it was too early to make a final decision, with another training session scheduled before the match.
The Liverpool boss explained that their availability would depend on how they respond, but he has not ruled out the possibility of any of them returning.
Meanwhile, Ryan Gravenberch will be unavailable after receiving a red card against Manchester City last weekend.
Iraola admitted that Liverpool’s demanding schedule, with matches coming every few days, makes squad rotation essential. He also stressed that the team will need contributions from every available player as they prepare for Brentford before turning their attention to Villarreal.
With three key players potentially nearing a comeback, Liverpool fans will be eagerly waiting for the latest update ahead of Saturday’s crucial fixture.
