EZE STEALS THE SHOW! 🔥 Arsenal Player Ratings: Eze and Saka Inspire 3-0 Win Over Lille, but Gyökeres Struggles Again 😬

Arsenal Player Ratings: Eze and Saka Shine as Timber Delivers a Masterclass, but Gyökeres Struggles Again

Arsenal produced a brilliant second-half performance to secure a convincing 3-0 victory over Lille in the Champions League.

The Gunners struggled to create enough chances before the break, but everything changed after half-time as they took control and overwhelmed their French opponents.

Jurrien Timber broke the deadlock with a superb chipped finish, giving Arsenal the breakthrough they desperately needed.

Mikel Arteta then introduced Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard, and the substitutions immediately paid off.

Saka wasted no time making his presence felt, setting up Eberechi Eze for Arsenal’s second goal before finding the net himself to complete the 3-0 victory.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Jurrien Timber – 9/10

Timber delivered an outstanding performance, producing a magnificent chip to open the scoring. He also won possession back in the build-up to Eze’s goal. A superb display that will delight Arteta after his recent injury struggles.

Eberechi Eze – 8/10

Eze was Arsenal’s most impressive attacking starter. He showed flashes of quality in the first half before finishing confidently to double the Gunners’ advantage. His performance could put him in contention for a starting role against Nottingham Forest.

Bukayo Saka – 8/10

Saka transformed Arsenal’s attack after coming off the bench. He provided the assist for Eze’s goal before scoring himself just minutes later, reminding everyone of his importance to the team.

Ezri Konsa – 7/10

Konsa continued to impress with his composure, strength and ability to deal with Lille’s counterattacks. He looked comfortable alongside Gabriel in defence.

Gabriel Magalhães – 7/10

The Brazilian delivered another dependable performance, putting his body on the line to block dangerous attempts and helping Arsenal keep a clean sheet.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7/10

Returning to left-back following Piero Hincapié’s injury, Lewis-Skelly adapted comfortably to the role. His versatility remains a valuable asset for Arteta.

Declan Rice – 7/10

Rice contributed at both ends of the pitch. He made a crucial intervention to prevent a dangerous Lille opportunity in the first half while continuing to support Arsenal’s attacks.

Bruno Guimarães – 7/10

Despite missing a promising early chance, Guimarães recovered well and delivered an all-round performance, creating openings with incisive passes and testing the opposition with efforts on goal.

David Raya – 6/10

Raya nearly gifted Lille a goal with a risky pass outside his penalty area. However, the mistake did not prove costly, and he finished the match with a clean sheet.

Mikel Merino – 5/10

Merino struggled to influence the game in attacking midfield and picked up an unnecessary yellow card. Ødegaard’s introduction later highlighted the difference in creativity Arsenal had been missing.

Noni Madueke – 5/10

Madueke endured a frustrating evening on the right wing. Poor final passes, overhit crosses and misplaced deliveries prevented him from making a meaningful impact.

Viktor Gyökeres – 4/10

Gyökeres failed to take advantage of his starting opportunity. The Swedish striker looked isolated from the rest of the team and struggled to make an impression before being substituted. His performance did little to strengthen his case for a regular starting place.

Arsenal’s Substitutes

– Kai Havertz – 7/10: Made an immediate improvement after replacing Gyökeres and registered an assist just six minutes after coming on.
– Bukayo Saka – 8/10: Changed the game with an assist and a goal.
– Martin Ødegaard – 7/10: Added creativity and clever movement, giving Arsenal greater control in midfield.
– Ben White – N/A: Came on late and had limited time to make an impact.
– Max Dowman – N/A: Introduced in the closing minutes.

The big talking point: Timber, Eze and Saka delivered when Arsenal needed them most, but Gyökeres once again struggled to convince. With key players making their mark from the bench, Arteta could face some difficult selection decisions ahead of the next match.
