What Haaland and Maresca Said About Liverpool Clash After Man City’s Guilty Verdict
Erling Haaland and Enzo Maresca have avoided getting involved in discussions surrounding Manchester City’s guilty verdict in the Premier League financial misconduct case, choosing instead to focus on their upcoming showdown with Liverpool.
Speaking to reporters, Maresca made it clear that his attention was firmly on securing victory at Anfield after the international break.
“We completely trust the club,” the Manchester City coach declared when asked about the verdict and its impact on the players.
Maresca also explained that his squad were concentrating on finding a way to beat Liverpool, with the support of their travelling fans.
Haaland, meanwhile, offered a light-hearted response when discussing the Manchester City supporters making the trip to Anfield, saying he believed they would have a good time.
However, the comments have sparked debate given the seriousness of the Premier League case. An independent commission reportedly found Manchester City guilty of 115 charges, with the club retaining the right to appeal.
While Maresca and Haaland appear determined to keep their focus on football, the verdict continues to cast a shadow over the club as they prepare for one of their biggest fixtures of the season.
