Hull City Player Involved in Car Crash Near Training Ground Weeks After Sorba Thomas Incident
Another Hull City player has reportedly been involved in a road accident close to the club’s training base, just weeks after Sorba Thomas was involved in a separate crash in the same area.
Images from Thursday morning showed a Mercedes lying on its side on a residential road in Cottingham.
The player involved is understood to be Lucas Gourna-Douath, making him the second Hull player this season to be involved in a vehicle rollover.
Thankfully, the incident did not result in any injuries.
Humberside Police confirmed that emergency services were called to Millhouse Woods Lane at around 8:30am on Thursday, October 1, following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
Police said: “Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision.”
Hull City have been approached for a response regarding the incident.
Second Hull Player Involved in Crash
The latest incident is believed to be the second involving a Hull player in the vicinity of the club’s Cottingham training complex within the past three weeks.
Earlier in September, Wales international Sorba Thomas was involved in a crash that left his vehicle overturned on a residential road in Cottingham.
Thomas, who joined Hull from Stoke City in a £10 million summer transfer, escaped unharmed and has featured in each of the club’s last three Premier League fixtures.
Hull City previously confirmed that Thomas suffered no injuries and was able to leave the vehicle safely.
Following that incident, local councillor Phil Redshaw contacted Hull City officials and urged the club to remind its players and staff to exercise greater caution while driving along the road.
He highlighted concerns raised by local residents and called for drivers heading towards the training ground to take extra care.
Hull have made an impressive start to the Premier League season and currently occupy eighth place after five matches. The club’s next league fixture will be against Everton following the international break.
