Hungary Defender Bolla Stretchered Off After Suffering Ankle Injury

Hungary defender Bendegúz Bolla was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher during his team’s Nations League clash with Northern Ireland.

The 26-year-old started for Hungary for the second consecutive match but suffered an ankle injury in the 31st minute following an accidental challenge involving Northern Ireland midfielder Isaac Price.

After receiving treatment, Bolla was unable to continue and was substituted by Attila Osváth in the 34th minute.

The injury appeared serious enough to prevent the right-back from walking off the field, with medical staff carrying him away on a stretcher.

Bolla had previously played the full 90 minutes in Hungary’s 1–0 defeat to Ukraine at the beginning of the Nations League campaign. He has earned 38 caps for Hungary, contributing two assists.
