😱 “I Can’t Even Watch Them” — Van der Vaart Slams Tottenham Over Huge Spending and Shock Goalless Run

Tottenham Hotspur legend Rafael van der Vaart has launched a strong criticism of the club’s transfer strategy and disappointing performances this season.

With Roberto De Zerbi facing growing pressure, Spurs have endured a frustrating opening four Premier League games without a victory — and, even more concerning, they have failed to score in any of them. The poor start has increased scrutiny on both the manager and Tottenham’s expensive summer recruitment.

Speaking on the Rondo podcast, Van der Vaart questioned the huge fees being paid for players who have yet to prove themselves at the highest level. He pointed out that transfer prices have risen dramatically, making it increasingly difficult for clubs such as Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord to compete financially.

Despite Tottenham investing heavily in players including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savio and Omar Marmoush, the expected attacking improvement has yet to materialize.

Van der Vaart was particularly blunt about what he has seen on the pitch, admitting that watching Tottenham play has become difficult for him and describing their performances as poor considering the amount of money invested in the squad.

However, Tottenham’s current struggles have also prompted comparisons with the club’s difficult start under Juande Ramos, when Spurs managed only two points from their first eight league games before Harry Redknapp took charge and guided them to an eighth-place finish.

That history offers some perspective, but with Tottenham still searching for their first Premier League win and goal of the season, pressure continues to build around De Zerbi, the players and the club’s recruitment strategy.
