Tottenham Hotspur and Richarlison’s representatives have reportedly reached an understanding following the disagreement that affected their relationship during the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian striker’s future at the club has been uncertain in recent months, with tensions between both parties believed to have contributed to his exclusion from Tottenham’s Premier League squad.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi previously hinted that Richarlison’s situation was influenced by events behind the scenes rather than a decision made solely by him. The Italian also admitted that he was disappointed with how the situation had developed.
However, there now appears to be a breakthrough, with both sides reportedly agreeing on a way forward.
According to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, Tottenham have informed Richarlison’s representatives that they are willing to cooperate with his departure when the January transfer window opens.
This means the 29-year-old forward could leave Spurs before his current contract expires next June, rather than being forced to remain at the club until the summer.
Another significant development is Tottenham’s decision not to activate their option to extend his contract by an additional year.
The club have reportedly chosen not to prolong the situation, allowing both parties to avoid further complications.
There had also been suggestions that Richarlison’s representatives were considering legal action to terminate his contract and secure his departure as a free agent.
However, that possibility has now reportedly been dropped.
Andrade claims that legal representatives from both sides concluded there were insufficient grounds to pursue such action, either through a mutual agreement or a legal process.
A return to Brazilian football in January is also reportedly not being considered, meaning the striker is expected to explore opportunities elsewhere.
For Tottenham, the priority now appears to be finding a suitable solution that allows Richarlison to leave without further disagreements.
After months of uncertainty surrounding his future, the situation seems to be moving towards a conclusion, with January potentially marking the end of his Tottenham career.
Richarlison’s next destination remains unclear, but Spurs are reportedly prepared to help him find a new club when the transfer window reopens.
