Liverpool Face Growing Real Madrid Interest as Mac Allister Contract Situation Remains Uncertain
Liverpool could face a difficult situation over Alexis Mac Allister’s future, with Real Madrid reportedly continuing to keep an eye on the midfielder amid uncertainty surrounding his contract.
The 27-year-old remains an important part of Liverpool’s plans, with his current deal running until 2028. However, there has reportedly been no major progress toward extending his contract, leaving the door open for interest from clubs around Europe.
According to reports, Real Madrid are among the clubs monitoring Mac Allister. The Spanish giants have not made an official offer, but their long-standing interest could become more serious if Liverpool fail to reach an agreement with the Argentina international.
Mac Allister has previously expressed his disappointment over not receiving a new contract, particularly after teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch secured extensions.
Despite the uncertainty, he has continued to make a strong impact on the pitch. His importance was highlighted when he scored Liverpool’s winner in their Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.
There is currently no indication that Liverpool’s head coach Andoni Iraola wants Mac Allister to leave. The midfielder remains a key figure in the team, and Liverpool still have considerable time left on his existing contract.
However, allowing the situation to remain unresolved as his deal enters its final stages could give interested clubs greater leverage.
Mac Allister is entering his prime and has established himself as an influential midfielder at Anfield. Liverpool may therefore need to decide whether they want to secure his long-term future with a new contract or consider their options if the situation remains unresolved.
For now, Real Madrid’s interest remains at the monitoring stage, but Liverpool will be aware that the situation could develop if contract talks continue to stall.
