Arsenal Show Interest in Liverpool Wonderkid Rio Ngumoha as Contract Talks Continue
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has addressed the growing speculation linking Arsenal with Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha.
The 18-year-old winger has impressed since breaking into Liverpool’s first-team setup and is regarded as one of England’s brightest young talents. However, uncertainty surrounding his long-term future has sparked interest from several major clubs.
Ngumoha was previously linked with Bayern Munich during the summer, and Arsenal have now reportedly emerged as another club keeping an eye on his situation.
Romano explained that Liverpool’s position has remained clear: the club does not want to sell the teenager and considers him an important part of their future plans.
However, Ngumoha’s current contract runs until 2028, meaning Liverpool are working to secure his future with improved terms.
Romano said Arsenal would naturally be interested in a player of Ngumoha’s ability if an opportunity to sign him arises in the future. He also suggested that other European clubs could enter the race.
For now, Liverpool remain focused on keeping the youngster and are in discussions over a new contract. The club will need to agree on the terms and provide the assurances Ngumoha wants before a deal can be completed.
With Arsenal continuing to monitor the situation, the winger’s contract negotiations could become an important transfer storyline if an agreement with Liverpool is not reached.
