Adeyemi Decides to Stay at Dortmund Amid Interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, and Napoli
Despite being linked with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Napoli, Karim Adeyemi has reportedly informed interested clubs that he intends to remain at Borussia Dortmund.
The German winger has been the subject of significant transfer speculation this January. However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Adeyemi’s current stance is to stay at Dortmund for the time being.
It remains uncertain whether Liverpool and Chelsea will continue their pursuit and attempt to sway Adeyemi’s decision, as both clubs have been strongly linked with the talented 23-year-old in recent weeks. Corriere dello Sport previously reported that Liverpool and Chelsea were competing with Napoli for his signature, but Romano has since provided an update on his official X page.
Adeyemi has been in good form for Dortmund this season, contributing five goals and three assists in 13 appearances across all competitions. His decision to stay will undoubtedly be welcomed by the Bundesliga club.
Setback for Liverpool and Chelsea
While Dortmund will be pleased to retain Adeyemi, this news is a blow for Liverpool and Chelsea, both of whom could benefit from reinforcing their attacking options.
For Liverpool, an immediate addition on the wing may not be essential, but they could require a major attacking investment in the summer, especially if Mohamed Salah departs at the end of his contract.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s recent struggles suggest they need an upgrade in the attacking department. With players like Pedro Neto and João Félix underperforming this season, securing a more effective winger could be crucial for their revival.
