Following the match against the Reds on Wednesday night, the 21-year-old expressed his belief that he could see himself playing for Liverpool. Speaking to The Liverpool Echo, he said:
“I definitely think that I can join Liverpool. We can be happy about winning against big names, but they didn’t field their strongest team. That’s a shame.
“I’m in a good place right now and feel the club’s confidence in me. As long as that remains, I’m happy, whether I perform well or not.
“I wouldn’t consider a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage. Not now. But you have to assess every situation.”
His comments seem like a clear message to Anfield that, if Liverpool were to make a move, he’d be open to the opportunity.
Johan Bakayoko Interested in Liverpool Move
The winger has been linked with Newcastle United, but recent reports suggest Liverpool could also join the race for his signature.
Back in the summer, journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed Bakayoko was already on Liverpool’s radar—an interesting prospect considering Mohamed Salah’s contract situation.
Liverpool currently has options like Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, and Luis Díaz as cover for the right wing. However, if Salah were to depart, securing a top-quality replacement would be essential.
Scoring against Arne Slot’s side in the Champions League served as a strong audition for Bakayoko, adding to his tally of eight goals and three assists this season.
Having been at his current club since the U-17 level, Slot is already familiar with the left-footed winger’s playing style. With just 18 months remaining on his contract, a move could be relatively straightforward—if Liverpool is as interested in him as he appears to be in them.
