Liverpool have reportedly completed two transfer deals within the space of just one hour as Andoni Iraola continues to reshape his squad with Deadline Day fast approaching.
With less than 36 hours remaining before the summer transfer window closes, the Reds are expected to remain active in the final stretch. Liverpool fans are still waiting for the official announcement of Bradley Barcola’s £123m move from Paris Saint-Germain, but the club’s transfer activity appears far from finished.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have agreed a deal for 18-year-old Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, with a package worth around €35m (£30.3m). The towering 6ft 7in goalkeeper is expected to undergo his medical before completing the move next summer, with Liverpool potentially loaning him back to Genk.
Just an hour later, another deal emerged, with Liverpool reportedly reaching an agreement to sign 18-year-old French forward Djylian N’Guessan from Saint-Etienne. The versatile attacker, who can operate centrally or on either wing, is expected to arrive at Anfield in 2027 after gaining further experience in France.
N’Guessan has already made 13 senior appearances for Saint-Etienne and scored his first senior goal despite only recently turning 18.
Liverpool see both youngsters as long-term investments, with Brughmans viewed as a potential future goalkeeper and N’Guessan regarded as one of France’s exciting attacking prospects.
With Barcola also reportedly on the verge of arriving, Liverpool’s Deadline Day business could be about to get even more interesting.
