Igor Tudor departs Spurs as two managers emerge as frontrunners to take over his role.

 

 

Igor Tudor has left Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent after just seven matches in charge, the club has confirmed.

The Croatian coach, who replaced Thomas Frank last month, managed only one point from five Premier League games. He also suffered a 7-5 aggregate defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16, despite a 3-2 home win in the second leg.

His final match was last Sunday’s 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, a result that left Spurs just one point above the Premier League relegation zone and only one place clear of the drop zone.

In an official statement, the club announced that Tudor, goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic, and fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci have all departed by mutual agreement.

“We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts over the past six weeks, during which they worked tirelessly,” the statement said.

“It is also important to recognise the recent personal bereavement suffered by Igor, and we extend our support to him and his family at this difficult time. An update on the appointment of a new head coach will follow in due course.”

According to Oddschecker, Sean Dyche and Roberto De Zerbi are currently the leading candidates to take over at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
