Man Utd and Chelsea Discover Arsenal’s £45m Price Tag for Myles Lewis-Skelly
Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly been informed of Arsenal’s valuation of Myles Lewis-Skelly, with the England international attracting interest from both Premier League giants.
Chelsea were recently offered an opportunity to sign the 19-year-old defender, who previously spent time on trial at the club during his youth. Despite Arsenal valuing Lewis-Skelly highly, reports suggest the Gunners could consider his departure if a suitable offer is made.
Manchester United have also been presented with the chance to sign the versatile youngster as they continue searching for reinforcements at left-back. The Red Devils remain interested in Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, while RB Leipzig defender David Raum is another option under consideration.
Lewis-Skelly’s ability to operate at both left-back and in central midfield makes him an attractive option for United. The club could still strengthen in midfield despite recently adding Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.
Arsenal are believed to value Lewis-Skelly at approximately £45 million. A transfer at that price would allow the Gunners to recover a significant portion of the money spent on their recent midfield investment.
Lewis-Skelly broke into Arsenal’s senior squad at a young age and signed a new five-year contract last year. However, his opportunities were limited last season, with the teenager making only five Premier League starts.
Competition for places has become increasingly difficult. Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie appear to be ahead of him at left-back, while midfield competition includes Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino and new arrival Bruno Guimaraes.
Despite his limited league appearances, Lewis-Skelly was handed a surprise start in Arsenal’s Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain after impressing in midfield.
The teenager has started every Arsenal pre-season match so far, although the club’s World Cup representatives have yet to return to the squad.
Lewis-Skelly became the youngest player to score on his senior England debut and has earned six international caps. However, he has not played for England since October 2025, with limited regular football at club level affecting his chances.
Arsenal Legend Suggests Rashford Swap
Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon has even suggested that Lewis-Skelly could potentially be involved in a swap deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
Rashford returned to United this summer after spending last season on loan at Barcelona, where he scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists as the Catalan club won La Liga.
Dixon believes a move involving both players could benefit their careers, arguing that Lewis-Skelly could flourish with greater freedom elsewhere while Rashford could potentially thrive under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
For now, Manchester United and Chelsea remain interested, but any potential deal could depend on whether either club is willing to meet Arsenal’s reported £45 million valuation.
