Jérémy Jacquet Dropped to France Bench After Physical Issue
Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet will start France’s UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium on the bench after reportedly experiencing a physical issue, according to L’Équipe.
The 21-year-old remains with the French squad but has not been named in the starting XI for Monday’s meeting at the Stade de France.
Jacquet had started France’s previous Nations League games against Belgium and Italy. However, manager Zinedine Zidane has opted to pair Manchester United’s Leny Yoro with Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix this time around, giving Yoro his France debut.
Jacquet made his senior international debut against Belgium in September and played a role in France’s 1–0 victory.
Liverpool will now hope the defender’s issue is only minor and that he can return to full fitness quickly. 🔴👀
