Mourinho Refutes Ronaldo Transfer Talk
Fenerbahçe manager José Mourinho has dismissed rumors suggesting that he could bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Turkish club, following reports that the two had discussed a potential move. Mourinho, who managed Ronaldo during their time together at Real Madrid, where they won the 2011-12 La Liga title and the 2010 Copa del Rey, downplayed the speculation.
When asked about the possibility of signing Ronaldo, Mourinho responded, “The news about Cristiano Ronaldo to Fenerbahçe is ridiculous. He might come to Istanbul for a meal because it’s between Saudi Arabia and Portugal, or maybe to catch up with me over dinner at my hotel.”
Mourinho’s First Year at Fenerbahçe
Mourinho’s debut season at Fenerbahçe has been challenging, as the club trails rivals Galatasaray by five points in the Turkish Süper Lig, despite a dominant 6-2 victory over Kayserispor on Saturday. The Portuguese coach is focused on overcoming the club’s early hurdles and pushing for league success.
Ronaldo and Al Nassr’s Setback
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and his current club, Al Nassr, are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr will next face Al Gharafa in the AFC Champions League Elite clash on Monday, hoping to recover from the loss.
