🚨 FOOTBALL LIVE: Man United Crash Out of Carabao Cup, Sunderland Secure Historic Europa League Win as Coventry Suffer Another Defeat

MAN UNITED COLLAPSE AS SUNDERLAND MAKE EUROPEAN HISTORY

Manchester United suffered another disappointing cup exit after Brighton came from two goals down to win 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup third round.

United made a flying start, taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Shea Lacey opened the scoring with a powerful finish before Mason Mount doubled the advantage.

However, Brighton produced a remarkable comeback after the break. Charlampos Kostoulas pulled one back before Pascal Groß levelled the game with a composed finish.

Maxim De Cuyper then completed Brighton’s comeback late in the match, sending United crashing out of the competition.

The defeat means Manchester United have now been eliminated at the first stage of the domestic cups in three consecutive seasons.

🌍 SUNDERLAND CELEBRATE HISTORIC EUROPEAN NIGHT

Sunderland also had reason to celebrate after securing their first-ever Europa League victory.

The Black Cats defeated AZ Alkmaar 1-0 at the Stadium of Light, with Enzo Le Fée scoring the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the second half.

It was a historic night for Sunderland, who also scored their first European goal since the 1970s.

🏆 CARABAO CUP DRAW REVEALED

The next round has produced several intriguing fixtures.

Fleetwood, the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition, earned a home tie against Arsenal after defeating Sheffield United.

Liverpool will host Chelsea at Anfield in another major all-Premier League clash.

Other ties include Everton vs Newcastle, Sunderland vs Brentford, Fulham vs Crystal Palace and Bournemouth vs Aston Villa.

🔴 JJ GABRIEL’S MAN UNITED EXIT FACES COMPLICATIONS

Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel’s potential departure could prove more complicated than initially expected.

The 15-year-old has attracted interest from clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona, but FIFA regulations surrounding international transfers of players under 18 could create obstacles.

Reports indicate that Gabriel’s family intends to relocate, but United could still challenge any attempt to cancel his registration.

If the dispute reaches the Premier League, the club could potentially receive only a relatively small compensation fee for the youngster.
